Anna's Hummingbird

Laurie Thompson rescued this Anna's Hummingbird, whom she has named Sophie, when it got trapped inside her apartment. Sophie even sat right on Laurie's hand as she helped her back outside! Now Sophie is a regular visitor to Laurie's apartment.

Anna's Hummingbird

Barb sent us this photo of her "Christmas Hummingbird", an Anna's Hummingbird that's been spending time at her feeder hanging off of the window! Looks like its enjoying the lovely lights and bow that she put up.

Rufous Hummingbird

Tony spotted this Rufous Hummingbird at a feeder south of Lillooet. Soon this bird will be headed south for Mexico!

American Goldfinch

John Pinto's American Goldfinches don't seem to mind him taking their photo from his kitchen window. They're too busy eating the sunflower chips in his squirrel and large bird proof bird feeder!

Staff member Leslie Meyers spotted a Pileated Woodpecker at her suet feeder!

Northern Flicker Northern Flicker

This American Goldfinch (top) paid a visit to Abram Parkinson's squirrel buster feeder (which was full of peanuts and bark butter bits).

He also has a pair of Northern Flickers (bottom) that visit regularly.

Cooper's Hawk

Staff member Leslie Meyers spotted this juvenile Cooper's Hawk in her front yard! It spent about half an hour searching every nook and cranny before perching on this bird bath.

Bald Eagle

Diana Mumford spotted this juvenile Bald Eagle on her property on the Sunshine Coast. This tree is one of the Eagles' favourite perching spots as it gives them an "Eagle's eye view" of the Sechelt Inlet.
